Treecycling, Find out about recycling your Christmas tree thru WLSSD, starting Dec. 27 ~ Jan. 10, 2011. Unfortunately Hartel's /DBJ is not equipped to pickup your trees.

Lyric Opera of the North is a professional opera company that lives right here in the Northland.  Founded in 2004, LOON produces high-quality professional opera that focuses a spotlight on local talent.  This winter LOON will present Amahl and the Night Visitors - the holiday classic by Gian Carlo Menotti.  Hartel's/DBJ has played a significant role in bringing this production to the stage.  Their sponsorship ensures that LOON will be able to bring the very best talent together in every element of the show.  For many families, Amahl and the Night Visitors is a holiday tradition.  Now, thanks to LOON and Hartel's/DBJ, a whole new generation will experience this American classic.  Children will be encouraged to sit right up next to the stage, and for some of them, this will be the first time they will hear this kind of singing!  The fact that the opera stars an 11-year-old boy might be a big surprise for some of them!  Live orchestra, guest dancers from Minnesota Ballet, a professional chorus and beautiful sets and costumes will contribute to the magic of the evening.  With 100% local talent on stage and off, LOON echoes Hartel's/DBJ's motto:  Your Local Choice (for opera!)  For more information check our website at loonopera.com.
